Preschool Graduation Ceremonies - What to Wear?

Preschool graduation is a special occasion.

It's a special occasion to not only the preschool graduate, but also their parents.

The way we look says a lot about us.

I am not talking about our physical appearance, but the things we can change such as grooming and dress sense. Our physical features are much harder to change so we have to live with them no matter what happens.
Selecting the attire for both the graduate and the visitors is a key part of the celebrations. Everyone wants to look smart and appropriately dressed apart from the few who wish to make a negative fashion statement by shocking all that is in their wake. Like most graduations, preschool graduations have the ceremony and an after party.
You will need to make a decision whether you are going to wear the same attire for the formal ceremony and at the party when you come back home.

At the formal party you may decide to have the graduate in a formal attire suit including preschool graduation caps and gowns.

This is important for the graduate especially when you are going to take official photographs of the ceremony. Some of these clothes can be expensive so you might be in a position where you have to go for hire rather than outright purchase.
However it must also be remembered that these are mementos which can be kept throughout the preschool graduate's life. If that is the case, then the best cause of action is to buy the graduation cap and gown and then reuse if you have other children.
You may have a choice to just purchase the preschool graduation cap.

This might be an alternative inexpensive way to get the mementos.

There are a variety of styles that you can refer to when you are trying to dress your preschool graduate, but under the Montessori belief system, it is important that you get their opinion about what they would like to wear for the preschool graduation ceremony. Children have their own dress sense according to how they see the world and what they have learned from their parents.
I remember an anecdote when a child of a certain celebrity refused to have his hair cut unless it was by a particular barber shop.
This shows that even children have their own preferences. This is what is called individuality and it is important that this aspect of their individuality is respected.
Having been through the formal dress selection for the preschool graduation, you can then move on to party time.

Preschool graduation is the occasion for full self expression.
The toddler may have their own visiting clothes or clothes for occasions but you might want to give them a special treat by buying a new outfit. This can act as a surprise and add an extra dimension of fun to the proceedings.
There are accessories such as ties and calf links which can rescue even the dullest pair of shirts.

If you are worried about cost, then be sure to include the costs of clothing within the preschool graduation budget.
Having read about the different aspects of dressing for the preschool graduation ceremony, the parents also need to look after themselves.

You do not want to appear tattered and worn out at your child's graduation party. Preschool children are not particularly hung up on material things but if photographs are being taken of the event, you do not want to be the weakest link.
