When it comes to HD TVs and Plasma televisions, you have to look into more than the outer appearance of each to understand the differences between the two types of televisions.
They both utilize different technology to deliver nearly the same results.
Plasma TV technology is based in part on the fluorescent light bulb.
The display of the Plasma TV is composed of cells and within each cell there are two glass panels that are separated by a thin gap where during the manufacturing process the neon-xenon gas is injected and sealed in plasma form.
The gas is electrically charged at certain intervals when the Plasma set is being used and the charged gas then hits green, red, and blue phosphors which in turn produce the TV image you see.
Each group of green, red, and blue phosphors is referred to as a pixel.
Getting a plasma TV means you do not have to have the electron beam scanning and bulky picture tube of the traditional television since this TV uses the burning of phosphors to produce the image. However, plasma televisions are susceptible to heat generation and screen-burn of static images. The benefits of plasma TVs are the larger screen sizes, better contrast ratio and deeper blacks, improved color accuracy and saturation, and improved motion tracking.
As well, Plasma TVs display up to 16.
77 million colors to provide a highly lifelike picture.
Another advantage of the Plasma TV is its thin, flat-panel design and they are very light.
The Plasma TVs space-saving design allows you to move it easily as well as placed in areas that no other type of TV would fit.
Plasma TV prices have fallen and are now very affordable.
HDTV is the next step up from digital television.
HDTV stands for High Definition Television.
HD TVs provide clearer image signals.
There are about two million pixels being delivered through this digital signal.
You will receive more precise and sharp images. HDTV has a higher resolution and this enhances the image sharpness. HDTV offers a wider image than traditional televisions which enhances the experience of watching movies and other specials. HDTVs have excellent sound as a result of the digital signals present in HDTVs referred to as Dolby Sound.
This is beneficial for users as the sound quality is enhanced and refined which is ideal as most CDs and movies are created using this particular sound.
HDTV transmits more than six times the information resulting in an enormous improvement in sound and quality. HD programming and films will be presented in 16:9 wide-screen format. The colors will generally look more realistic due to their greater bandwidth.
Through using a HDTV, users can watch numerous programs on one channel.
They can also check the program guide while watching a show and change subtitles. HD's greater clarity means the picture on screen can be less blurred and less fuzzy.
Recently, prices have decreased for HDTV-ready TV sets, and most likely will continue to decrease.
The question of whether you should get high definition television (HDTV) or Plasma TV will depend on your budget and television needs.

Important Thoughts For Your Child's Development
There are several things which a child has to learn when he or she is growing up.
Every day is a new learning experience.
Every day you will see your child grow and you will start enjoying those little experiences.
.
Parents are parents after all and after a while they will want everything from the child.
They want him to stand and sit on his own. If the child has accomplished that task then they will want him to learn to walk all by himself.
If that is accomplished then they will want him to start speaking.
This is nature and it is nothing wrong to be anxious about everything.
But in reality you are putting undue pressure on the child.
There will be an atmosphere of tension in the house as you are now trying to monitor and control each activity. Beware that this can be detrimental to the kids development.
You need to be aware that the person you are dealing with in this case is a little child and not a grown up person. The child does not know how to handle pressure. Allow him to be more mature to tell him a few things.
Till age 2 or 3 you should not be putting pressure on the kid.
In reality, the parents need to go slow and be very patient. The best way to understand how the kid's behavior will be is to read books on child development.
Those books will tell you what you need to do in a particular situation.
In case the kid is not responding then consult your pediatrician for help. Do not panic as each and every kid is different. It is this difference which also leads parents to think that their kid is not up to the mark.
As a parent you will keep hearing stories that someone else's kid has started walking at age one. A distant friend will tell you that his kid was talking before he was 15 months old.
Ignore all these stories and work assiduously with your kid to gauge his pace of learning. Never try to compare two kids and that will help.
You will be more relaxed and patient as that will result in an environment where he can develop all his faculties without the extra pressure.
The key to remember is that the child's mind is like a blank clean piece of slate and whatever you do will be etched on that. I am sure that you will not want bad things to be etched on that.
Be focused and you will see amazing results.

What Is Involved In Setting Up A Website?
How do you get a website up and running? This is a question I find myself answering over and over again.
It is a very good question too that not too many people explain.
We have all visited a website at one time or another in search of information or to shop. It is very simple on our end to do this but when you stop to think about how that website came into existence does anything come to mind? Start a website by picking a name, registering that name, and then hosting the files it contains. After all this is complete content is added.
I know this sounds like a lot of steps however; after you build your cool website and see people gravitate to it, all the work is worth it. Step One - Select a website name.
This is what will be typed in search engines or directly into the HTTP bar.
This is how people find you site.
Make a list of names you like; I suggest you choose ten.
Give some thought to what names you are picking and work towards making them relevant and easy to spell.
Remember, you are working towards attracting visitors.
If a name you chose is already owned you will have to pick another one; this is why I suggested you write down ten.
The price charged for a website name (domain name) depends on the extension you choose (.com, .
me, .org, etc) Step Two - Register your name.
Now that you have a website name (domain) you will need it registered.
This consists of finding a domain name registrar.
Registrars are organizations that manage internet names.
They are also accredited.
Once you have a domain and it is registered you now need to host it.
Step Three - Website hosting.
Hosting is where your website addresses lands.
Website (domain) hosting is a computer that stores files and is connected to the internet, where web surfers (people) can access them. This includes the pages that make up the website.
Some companies offer hosting, registration, and design as a package.
Sometimes this comes with a higher price than purchasing the services separately.
Hosting companies will offer different plan and allocate a certain amount of space on their server for webpage's and content. Make sure to research how the hosting company handles uploads and changes to a website.
Once all the steps above are complete you are now ready to add content. You can either learn to do this yourself with tools or pay someone to design it for you.
Adding content is not the only step left to complete.
You still need to get this website noticed by search engines. This is done by marketing.

My Kids - Take 1! Ashutosh
I teach in a low income school in Pune. My life is mostly about lesson planning and visiting my students in their communities.
I have thirty five really adorable third graders, and I owe them so much, for making me love my job insanely.
My class is a mix of students who are non performers, as well as excellent performers.
As a teacher, I am not supposed to be partial, because let's admit it, that's just highly unfair.
But I do have my own set of favorite students. One of them is Ashutosh..
.
So, Ashutosh is not really great when it comes to academic excellence. OK, honestly, he's really low when it comes to scoring.
I guess he comes to school just so that he could share his lunch box with his friends and add to the laughter in the class.
My nagging hasn't helped.
He doesn't study.
He never reciprocated to my lessons and that has often made me want to quit whatever I am doing. His aim is not to take straight 'A's back home, like many focused students in my class, but to have fun with the others kids.
He doesn't miss school on Wednesdays; because that's the day our school permits all the kids to bring their favorite snack in their lunch boxes.
There have also been times when he has hated school so much, that he went to the extent of eloping. Most of the teachers have completely ignored him in the past, and maybe that's why he feels so discouraged.
Ashutosh is a third grader who couldn't even spell his name until recently and is way behind the other students of my class. He doesn't answer any questions, doesn't participate and has got nothing to do when it comes to learning.
But he has one love.
Colors! He loves to color, paint, draw and sketch. There was this one time when I had asked him to color a drawing and he was quiet for about forty minutes, which, by the way, is really difficult for a guy who jumps around so much.
And that's when it struck me.
Probably, this was the way he learned.
These forty minutes of engagement that Ashutosh displayed changed my entire approach towards him.
I got a multiple coloring sheets for him. I also got stuff like 'connect the dots'. This way, he started practicing the basic alphabets and numbers.
His homework includes learning only two or three words every day, and writing them down in his favorite color. It's been hardly two months that I have known him, but the level of trust he has in me amazes me. We both are partners in his progress.
The pace is slow, but it is happening.
He is on task and is making an effort to improve. He loves it when I tell stories. The other day he came up and said he wanted to narrate a story to the class.
For a guy who is almost never present (mentally) in the class, this was a great achievement. I was almost in tears when I saw his level of confidence.
A third grader being able to spell his name correctly might be nothing in the eyes of most of the people. But he's making me believe in myself. The motivation I give him is making him believe in himself.
And, I guess, we both are doing just fine there.
So, that's Ashutosh.
We watch animated movies together, tell stories, solve crazy puzzles and laugh for no big reason.
My journey of a 'teacher in a low income school' has just started, and he's making it a little easier.
There hasn't been one day when he has begun to eat before feeding me.
I have always been someone who hates being fed. But, as they say, there are exceptions to everything. He refuses to eat unless I eat.
Ashutosh is undoubtedly one person who never fails to make me smile. I owe him for teaching me what patience is. And I'm sure, with all the patience, he'll certainly make it big one day, even in the eyes of the other teachers.

What to Look for When Potty Training Your Toddler
Potty training your toddler can be one of the more difficult jobs you have as a parent as it is fraught with nervousness and uncertainty over whether your son or daughter is truly ready and what the best method is to train them effectively.
It's also difficult to deal with the mess and embarrassment that is caused by the frequent accidents, especially in public places.
That all said, there are a few simple things to look out for as a parent that can help you know when your toddler is ready to be trained and thus will greatly increase the chances that it will go smoothly.
One of the essential things to look for when potty training toddlers is that they are "ready" to be trained.
While this can be extremely subjective and difficult to ascertain, there are a few things you must be looking for or you might miss the window where they are most appropriately ready to be trained. Be on the lookout for the first time they wake up with a completely dry diaper. For the first few years of their lives they've woken to a fully wet diaper, so a dry diaper is a sign to you that they have the ability to 'hold it' for an extended period of time.
You also need to be looking out for their increased awareness of their own bathroom activities and their increased interest in your bathroom habits.
In order to potty train your toddler and take that step to take the diaper off them, you have to feel comfortable with them telling you when they have to go to the bathroom and trusting that they are correct. That's why telling you when they are going to the bathroom is a great sign that they are ready to be trained themselves.
Lots of toddlers also pick up an interest in their parents going to the bathroom when they are ready to be trained.
They like to emulate you in many respects and that's often how they learn, and this situation is no different.
You'll find that they like to open the toilet seat for you and grab some toilet paper and even flush the toilet when you're done.
If you look out for these signs that your toddler is giving you, you'll be well on your way to effectively potty training your child.
It can be a frustrating experience, but an extremely rewarding one to see them grow up and take this important step.

Marketing for the Confused Beginner
Marketing techniques have changed drastically in the past twenty years.
Posting physical advertisements and posters has become a thing of the past.
Today, billboards are technological and advertisements are able to be viewed on mobile devices.
But, the principle remains.
Marketing is more than just pictures and words sent out into the universe to generate revenue.
It's about branding, networking, evolving, growing. I know, you're wondering what my point is. Well, I'm merely trying to point out the important aspects of marketing for you and help you understand WHY it makes a difference.
Let's pretend there is a small restaurant near you called Antonio's. Antonio's is brand new and has never dealt with the hiring and firing process let alone the marketing process.
He doesn't understand the importance of knowing audiences, gearing marketing strategies, logos, networking, and so on and so forth.
Antonio makes flyers for his opening debut.
Each flyer is a different color and has a different photo of him cooking.
He thinks this is a great way to draw in a crowd and advertise his business. On the night of his opening, two couples came in for dinner, all night.
I'm here to tell you what could have improved the outcome of this scenario. First and foremost, online marketing is essential for new businesses.
People want to see a website.
They want to be able to visualize themselves in an establishment and have confidence in a business.
Antonio should have considered utilizing social media marketing in addition to investing in a top-of-the-line website.
Social media platforms are an essential aspect to networking and bringing in new customers/clients.
Now, let's talk about the flyers.
. The problem with using different colors and different pictures on every flyer is this...
BRANDING.
For branding, that was a terrible decision. A business must stick with one branding image- to create a lasting impression. When you think of Starbucks, what comes to mind? Yes, that logo. The green woman.
Now, anytime you see that logo you immediately know what business is being advertised.
How about Facebook? The blue square with a lowercase, white "f".
Every time you see that logo, you know the topic is Facebook. This concept is imperative.
Establishing a logo and a brand image is one of the first steps to forming a phenomenal business.
Antonio should have came up with a unique, fun branding concept and implemented it on all of his flyers! Also, he should have used this branding image on his new, exciting Social Media platforms, his new website, and incorporated it into his physical restaurant.
I realize these are small, seemingly insignificant notions. But, in reality, they make a difference.
Stay tuned for more marketing tips and hypothetical scenarios!
